Ariha Hotel Cosenza is the strongest city backup (cleanliness/comfort 9.4); Hotel Marechiaro is the sea-view backup (€348–366 total) but has weaker offseason service and no indoor spa/pool. Seasonal Tropea luxury hotels were rejected because verified November inventory is closed/unavailable.

Why this is now lower: the $969 pp native ITA round trip replaces $1,327 in separate one-ways, and direct Calabria trains replace domestic flights. The optional €540 FCO→Amalfi direct car is excluded; add about $173 pp if comfort is worth the two-hour gain.
